20+ Instruments, One Show: How The Haygoods Do It All Live

A Haygoods performance moves fast. Just when you think you know what is coming next, someone picks up a different instrument, the sound changes, and the entire stage takes on a new energy. That variety is a huge part of what has made The Haygoods Branson’s most exciting live music experiences.

With five brothers and one sister performing on more than 20 instruments throughout the show, there is a lot happening on stage. Every switch serves a purpose, helping us bring a wide range of rock, country, and pop favorites to life in a way that feels fresh, exciting, and completely live.

Switching Instruments Is Part of the Show

For us, changing instruments is not something that happens quietly between songs. It is woven into the performance.

Years of playing together have taught us how to move from one musical role to another without slowing down the show. Guitars, drums, keyboards, strings, and other instruments all find their place throughout the night. Different songs give different members of the family a chance to showcase their musical abilities.

That flexibility also keeps the audience guessing. You might see one sibling playing a familiar instrument during one number, only to see them take on something entirely different a few songs later.

One Family, Decades of Music

Our ability to play so many instruments opens up plenty of possibilities when choosing music for the show. We perform hit songs from the 1960s through today, covering rock, country, pop, and plenty in between.

Instead of making every song sound alike, we can change the instrumentation to better capture what makes each piece of music special. It helps us move between decades and genres while keeping the concert flowing naturally.

Most importantly, the music you hear is being performed live right in front of you. That live element creates an excitement that is hard to duplicate.

Turning Live Music into a Full-Scale Experience

Of course, the instruments are only one part of a Haygoods show. Lighting, large-scale production, special effects, and plenty of surprises work alongside the music to create an experience that fills the stage.

Now in our 34th season, after 7.1 million tickets sold and more than 2,000 sold-out shows, we still love finding new ways to surprise Branson audiences.

More than 20 instruments give us a lot to work with, but it is what we can create with them together that makes every Haygoods performance something special. Contact The Haygoods at (417) 339-4663 today for the best seats!
